The flattering low-cut silhouette sits just below the ankle, creating a refined line that feels easy, relaxed, and slightly retro. Crafted in tumbled black leather for a textured yet versatile finish, and set on our signature black rubber outsole, it's the kind of shoe you'll want to build your outfits around.

Evolved from our much-loved Movement Buckle Shoe, Tao is a reinterpretation designed to bring function and consideration in one bold, wear-all-day package. The triple-buckle detail feels fresh and modern, while the softly structured upper and almond-toe shape keep things grounded in comfort.

This season, we’ve reimagined Tao in tumbled black leather, offering subtle texture to an effortlessly versatile colourway. The silver buckles offer a sharp contrast against the black leather, elevating the shoe into something sophisticated yet subtly tough.

The flattering ankle proportions are cut just below the ankle bone, creating a refined line that feels easy, relaxed, and slightly retro. The three silver-tone buckles offer a fully adjustable fit, while the internal footbed has a removable insole and a 4mm removable memory-foam fitting stabiliser, allowing you to fine-tune your fit bespoke to your needs.

Lined in our signature Electric Peach sheepskin, Tao is pure comfort from the first wear. To ensure these are ready for a full day of city-walking or cafe-sitting, we’ve included a suede heel panel and a soft "puff" at the heel to prevent slipping and provide immediate ease. Set upon our proprietary rubber outsole, Tao features full-flex construction and abrasion-tested tread for durability and grip.

Care Instructions

Leather is breathable, durable and beautiful, so give it a bit of love!

Clean when necessary with a leather conditioner and a soft cloth to remove dirt.
Polish your shoes once a month with wax or cream polishes such as Waproo Platinum Shu-Glo to help rejuvenate them from scratches and other signs of regular wear. Once your newly polished shoes have dried, you can reapply a waterproofing spray for extra protection.
Regular waterproofing is essential to protect your shoes from unexpected showers. Try our Waproo Platinum Eco Stain & Water Repellent at least once a month on the Full Moon - We’ll send you a reminder when you sign up to our newsletter. Yes, we still care even when they’re in your hands!

My second pair
Love these shoes….. the sneaker/shoe that always gets a comment. Had the green so had to get the brown. Have never had so many say they love my shoes. Looks great with pants or skirts with or without socks…. Bright colour and patterned socks just add to the look. Being 65 years old can be considered old and some days I feel it…..but put these shoes on and you feel happy and a bit groovy!! Yes still saying the word groovy!! lol

The Tao is running long, so if you are between sizes, we highly recommend sizing down. You can further adjust the shoe to your exact needs using the three fully adjustable silver-tone buckles across the top of the foot.

Are the Tao shoes orthotic-friendly?

Yes! The internal footbed features our dual-insole system, which includes a removable insole and an extra 4mm removable memory-foam fitting stabiliser. Simply lift these out to fine-tune the space or seamlessly swap in your own custom orthotics.

What materials are the Tao shoes made from?

The softly structured upper is crafted from tumbled black leather and finished with three silver-tone buckles. Inside, the shoe is completely lined in our highly breathable, signature Electric Peach sheepskin leather for pure comfort from the first wear.

How do I care for and protect the tumbled black leather?

Regular waterproofing is essential, so we recommend treating them with a waterproofing spray at least once a month. To clean the shoes, use a soft cloth and leather conditioner, and polish them monthly with a leather conditioner to buff out any scratches.

What is your return policy if the shoes don't fit?

You can return any full-priced order for an exchange, credit note, or refund within 30 days of receiving it through our Returns Portal. We cover the cost of the shipping label when Checkout+ is selected during checkout.
