Care instructions

Leather is breathable, durable and beautiful so give it a bit of love!

Clean when necessary, with a leather conditioner and soft rag to remove any dirt.
Polish your shoes once a month using wax or cream polishes such as Waproo Platinum Shu-Glo to help rejuvenate your shoes from scratches and other signs of regular wear. Once your newly polished shoes have dried, you can re-apply a waterproof spray for extra protection.
Regular waterproofing is essential to protect from unexpected showers. Try our Waproo Platinum Eco Stain & Water Repellent at least once a month on the Full Moon - we’ll send you a reminder when you sign up to our newsletter. Yes, we still care even when they’re in your hands!

Leather & Suede Upper | Leather Lined | Rubber Sole

Fit Notes - Light Years is running slightly long and is one of our widest styles. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing down. They come with removable insoles and are orthotic-friendly.

After a year of design, development and sampling, we are very excited to bring you something brand new. An interplanetary hiker that is Light Years ahead. Working with our makers to develop our newest proprietary two piece sole, which has exaggerated proportions and extra bounce for walking on clouds comfort.

Leaning into monochromatic palettes for taking you from winter through to spring. Crafted from milk leather, with just the right amount of warmth in it, these trainers are built up with layers of black leather and suede. Grounded with our black outsole and neoprene collar, not just for the 90s rave reference, but also for the intentional bike riding and cross town commute situations which we know to be a key consideration for your highly active day.

Great Hikers and Workout partners
I 🖤🤍 these Light Years Hikers so much, the sole is very supportive on my regular back road fitness walks and gym workouts. I’ve taken them on a hiking trip and they were great, really excellent for trails and rocks. Love the black and white colourway which is super smart, and makes these real go-tos.

I should have bought a smaller size
This shoe is comfortable and very stylish in its two-tones suede, I just wish I’d bought a size down. I’m 39 in other R Yes shoes, could have gone to a 38 unfortunately

Comfy BUT SLIPPERY
They are so comfortable out of the box and thats great but are DANGEROUSLY slippery to wear in wet conditions. Beware ! For example metal street covers for drains or water/sewrage covers, certain type of tile/paver walkways, and even certain tactile paving strips at intersections or along paths [for the visually impared].
There have been a few times I have almost totally stacked it cause these shoes are so slippery and have gone from under me.
I thought it was cause they were new at first [I purchased in late Oct] and that there was perhaps some sort of factory new film on the base that needed to be worn off. But I wore them for 2 weeks in Japan doing 15-20k steps per day and even now they are my daily drivers. Nothing has changed they are still as slippery in wet conditions.
I love them to bits but I only wear them on days I KNOW its going to be dry unfortunately. I expected better from something called a hiker with such a rugged looking base + they for the price its really dissapointing.
I wish I could be more posistive cause they are such a cool and comfortable shoe.
