At Radical Yes, our approach to footwear is a "radical" departure from the over-production of trend-based fast fashion. Founder Kerryn Moscicki brings over 20 years of fashion product experience to every design, ensuring that while we are not an orthopaedic brand, comfort and ease are always at the core. We operate on a 26-week seasonal cycle, a stark contrast to the frantic six-week cycles of mass-market retail. This allows us to follow an ethos of “little and often,” producing in small quantities to test and improve each iteration, effectively minimising material wastage and preventing overproduction.
Our shoes are proudly handcrafted in Guangdong, China, by a curated selection of family-owned manufacturers who share our values of artisanal craftsmanship. These partnerships are more than transactional; Kerryn visits our makers regularly to maintain a hands-on presence, ensuring our high standards for ethics and quality are met in person. Our makers are BV Audit-approved and provide annual BSCI reports, guaranteeing fair working hours and a safe environment for every person involved. Choosing to make our shoes in this region is also an environmental decision; our proximity allows us to transport products to Australia via sea freight, which has a significantly lower carbon footprint than air freight.
To maintain the longevity of your Radical Yes shoes, we advocate for a mindful care routine. We encourage our community to care for their shoes on the full moon as a rhythmic reminder to clean and condition the leather. We also recommend wearing your shoes in rotation “every other day” to allow the materials to breathe and recover. From our North Melbourne roots to our global makers, every pair of shoes is made with intention, quality, and a dedication to helping you move through life with grace and confidence.
