Leaning on the flatform proportions of the outsole we call ‘L-Unit’, you might recognise the profile of this boot from the RY much loved classic ‘Lunar’ zip up. Designed with a more active essence in mind, Lead The Way offers a wool lining and deep elastic gusset that stretches almost halfway around the throat, making the silhouette easier to fit on high arches and thicker calf shapes.
This season we have dreamed up these sustainable platform boots in two opposing materials: nubuck suede and smooth leather. The all-black nubuck suede has a tactile quality and warmth we were imaging with ⅞ length denims and outsized knits for wintery weekends at the market. The finer handle of the Forest Green leather, contrasted with a natural gum rubber outsole for just the right amount of sharp-active balance, feels equally suited to work situations as it does to chasing the kids at weekend sports.
Both styles are built on our elevated flatform sole, not just for height, but also for the practical feeling of keeping feet a few inches from the cold earth in deep winter. Removable insoles and that Australian merino wool lining offer practicality so you can play around with sock styles and tights, from the thickest cable knits to a fine denier or fishnet.
