Orthotic Friendly Shoes
The Radical Yes "I Only Wear Flats" philosophy is perfectly suited for those seeking orthotic-friendly options. We understand that finding shoes that accommodate custom inserts without looking "clunky" is a challenge for the creative woman. Our approach involves designing architectural silhouettes that provide the necessary internal volume while maintaining a joyful, positive aesthetic. By producing in small quantities - our "little and often" ethos - we can rigorously test the fit of our orthotic-friendly range, ensuring that each iteration is an improvement on the last.
Our expertise in this category comes from a deep understanding of product development and a close relationship with our makers in Guangdong. Our entire sneaker range features removable insoles, making them orthotic-friendly. Many of our boots and slip-ons also feature removable insoles, with a small selection of these styles featuring an additional 4mm memory foam fitting stabiliser that can be removed if required. For these styles, we recommend spending time finding your perfect fit by experimenting with the insoles. We recommend placing the 4mm foam insole underneath the primary insole. Each product description will list whether a specific pair comes with removable insoles or not, but feel free to contact us at yes@radicalyes.com.au if you are unsure or have any further questions.
While our sandals do not come with removable insoles, all of our sandals feature a moulded footbed with a heel-cup, arch-support and a toe-bridge for ultimate comfort, acting as an orthotic itself. Some of our sandal footbeds are constructed with rubber, while others are leather-wrapped. Caring for your orthotic-friendly footwear is essential for maintaining its supportive structure. We advise our community to practice a monthly care ritual (perhaps on the full moon) to clean the leather and check the condition of your shoes. It is also vital to rotate your footwear, wearing them every other day to allow the cushioned footbeds to recover.
