Radical Yes 'Ritual' Sandal - Black Leather

We knew sandals were important to our customers after last years fast selling response to silhouettes like Rise and Yes Wedge. So this season we extended our ideas to encompass a broader range of possibilities and events. The Ritual sandal is a uniquely padded 'sausage' sandal that mixes the aesthetics of a Japanese Geisha shape with a more athletic - 'radical' wedge construction. The ankle strap has been left intentionally fine to create contrast and an almost 'evening' inspired intrigue. We love thinking of these sandals walking hot summer nights enroute from a gallery opening to your favourite local wine bar. Using a very luxurious kid skin, the upper is extremely soft and tactile and speaks to other padded items we have made in the past including The Magic slides and our favourite North Star clutch. 

What we love most about these shoes is the comfort. The molded innersole is extremely soft under foot, while the outsole is produced in a soft rubber that permits full flex of the foot and is one of the reasons we dubbed them our 'athletic mini wedge' . With careful consideration placed on getting the height at perfectly wearable proportions, rising to a gentle 40mm height through the heel and graduating to a soft landing 30mm height through the ball of the foot.

Running true to fit in both length and width. Please order your usual size and note no need to size up as we have had to in the past with our wedges. This shoe has been very carefully graded to ensure perfect fit. You can check out our size guide here.

You can have this shoe in any colour as long as it's Black! As with other explorations of new silhouettes, to launch this style in the spirit of a more sustainable approach and trying things out slowly, we have made the decision for you by introducing just the one colour option as a trial on this new shape.  Seen here in a super soft handle Black kid skin leather framed by a Black Leather innersole wrap to let the intriguing and unique silhouette do all the talking. Considerable, fine finished buckle at the ankle in classic silver. All finished on super bouncy black EVA Wedge outsole. 

We really saw this as a very playful take for evenings, weddings and events that you can wear with a statement black dress and feel both comfortable and considered in. There is an elegance that we like to play up with this upper and it will be our go-to shoe for heading out this summer. Having said that, the 2-piece athletic outsole also makes the shoe very wearable with denims and a simple shirt up top. A bit of tie-dye will go a long way to a more playful twist to the look. 

Rad friends this is an extremely high quality leather upper so it does need care. 

Leather is a wonderful material, breathable, durable and beautiful. But without a bit of love it can dry out and deteriorate.

Polish your leather shoes around once a month and clean when necessary with a leather conditioner and soft rag to remove any dirt accumulated on your travels.

For extra special treatment, polishing can help renew shoes that have developed scratches or other signs of regular wear. Wax and cream polishes available from a local shoe repairer will breath new life into your beloved toe tappers. Once your newly polished shoes have dried you can re-apply a waterproof spray for extra protection.
