Lucent - Zip Ankle Boot in Kayak Leather on Black Outsole

The problem with side zips is they can be hard on high arches. It was a challenge we had been ruminating on with Lunar Boots from AW21. How can we make a boot silhouette like this even more accessible to even more feet? This was the beginning thinking for Lucent. Clean side facings and a centre pulled metal teeth zip means the upper fits a wider style of foot shapes. Plus. It just looks intentionally punk rock. Gonna get things done in these boots. Especially in a modern take in our khaki inspired Kayak.

We love the proportions of this boot which slim the ankle and define the foot in a really sophisticated way. Made from rubber this outsole has natural spring for all day comfort, is deceptively light and extremely durable. We love the way the outsole adds a bit of height and drama the way a heel can whilst still remaining entirely wearable. 

A classic silhouette for us, the new Lucent Boot is slim-fitting, above the ankle and a whole lot of amazingness! The boot will sit snuggly through the ankle with the centre zip panel flattering the feet. More heavily lined and faced than Lunar boots, the leather will soften over time. Orthotic friendly and features removable innersole so you can change them over easily to your own if you need to. Length is true to fit.

This colour was a really hard one to source - especially from a distance! The tone of this Kayak is somewhere between a khaki and a caramel. It throws earthy olive inspired tones without being too military. A great way to do colour in winter without being too bold, the accent of the black rubber outsole makes them as easy to wear as a black boot. Lined in cream leather and featuring a silver teeth metal zip. For true colour reference look at the product stills here as the styled on foot soots are more blown out. The colour is a deep browny-olive tone and it's radical!

This is a leather upper / lined product so like all leather shoes will have around 8 - 10% stretch on wearing depending on the amount of pressure applied to the upper.

There's the obvious choices, tucked under denims paired with oversized knits and coats, but actually we also love to play off the utility themes of these boots with contrasting feminine dress details and coloured socks peeking out the top. For the weekends we also enjoy mixing the look with a bit of intentional luxe grunge with an oversized long line skirt and vintage printed sweat. As always it's about the juxtaposition of something quite feminine up top to play up to the more masculine lines of this shoe. Radical and Yes!

This is high quality leather upper so it does need care. 

Leather is a wonderful material, breathable, durable and beautiful. But without a bit of love it can dry out and deteriorate.

Polish your leather shoes around once a month and clean when necessary with a leather conditioner and soft rag to remove any dirt accumulated on your travels.
