Sophia Strappy Sandal in Black Leather

A strappy roman inspired sandal made radical. Self covered leather buckles, and straps that speak to a 'heels mood' without the pain, we believe every flat shoe summer wardrobe needs a Sophia sandal!

A painstakingly considered upper pattern - Sophia has strappy details in all the right places. The cleverest thing about this shoe is the secret hidden elastic on the interior straps which make them both wider feet and narrow feet friendly. 

Set on our basically famous Declaration last, careful consideration has been placed on getting the height at perfectly wearable proportions, rising to a gentle 40mm height through the heel and graduating to a soft landing 30mm height through the ball of the foot. Featuring a chunky buckle detail, the rear ankle strap has also been finished with hidden elastic on the inner for easy fit, walk and wear.  

We have used 3 buckles on the vamp straps of this upper to allow for greater fitting options. Running true to fit in both length and width. If you have bought our Declaration sandal please choose you usual size. You can check out our size guide here.

Will they stretch? This is a leather upper leather lined product so some stretch will be expected - up to 5% depending on the fit and pressure on the upper.

A key feature of this new silhouette is the self wrapped leather buckle which we feel keeps the mood modern and strong. This is a beautiful handle black leather upper also lined in black leather that speak to our ethos of creating shoes that you will wear beyond a single season. A matching black innersole wrap gives a more substantial feel to what is always a favourite palette pick. All finished on super bouncy black EVA Wedge outsole.

We really saw this as a 'heels alternative' for the summer. Think elevated silk dresses and printed pyjama inspired pants for floaty 'occasion' situations.  Also super cool with summer denim - we're going cropped flares and spaghetti strap singlets to mine a 70s retro mood. 

Leather is a wonderful material, breathable, durable and beautiful. But without a bit of love it can dry out and deteriorate.

For optimum care, we recommend and sell "Waproo Waterproofer" to protect them from unexpected showers. We recommend spraying monthly on the Full Moon and can send you a reminder if you sign up to our newsletter here.

Polish your leather shoes around once a month and clean when necessary with a leather conditioner and soft rag to remove any dirt accumulated on your travels.

For extra special treatment, polishing can help renew shoes that have developed scratches or other signs of regular wear. Wax and cream polishes available from a local shoe repairer will breath new life into your beloved toe tappers. Once your newly polished shoes have dried you can re-apply a waterproof spray for extra protection.
